Words cannot express the deep sadness about the passing of Professor Umberto Veronesi.  Dr Umberto was no doubt a pioneer and a leader in the field of oncology and surgery. He achieved so many accolades and prominent positions in various capacities.

Most importantly he was a wonderful “human being” who cared about people and has helped and touched the lives of so many throughout his life.

I am honored to have known Dr Umberto. May his soul rest in peace.
